About the Role Our client is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding building services team in Welkom. This role is critical in designing, implementing, and managing high-performance heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for a variety of commercial and industrial projects. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal thermal comfort, air quality, and energy efficiency across diverse building types. Key Responsibilities Design and develop comprehensive HVAC systems, including calculations for heating, cooling loads, ductwork, and piping layouts. Select appropriate HVAC equipment, such as chillers, boilers, air handling units, and controls, ensuring efficiency and compliance. Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and schedules for HVAC installations. Conduct site inspections during construction to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards. Perform energy modeling and analysis to optimize system performance and reduce operational costs. Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and construction managers to integrate HVAC systems seamlessly. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in HVAC or Building Services. Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC design and project execution. Proficiency in HVAC design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and HAP. Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and psychrometrics. Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards (e.g., ASHRAE), and energy efficiency regulations. Experience with building management systems (BMS) and controls is a plus.
