SUMMARY: Plans methods and procedures for the installation of raceway systems, wiring systems, lighting fixtures, electrical devices and appliances, electrical apparatus, and grounding systems. All work must be done in a workmanship manner according to industry standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Includes the following, but are not limited to: Plan, layout, and obtain sufficient required materials and tools to complete an assigned task as scheduled. Cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install the raceway system. Pull wire in raceway systems verifying code fill requirements. Push, pull, or reposition rolling scaffolds, non-power-driven lifts, machinery on wheels, and materials and equipment on or off mobile carts as authorized by the Safety Officer. Mount panels, disconnect and transfer switches, circuit breakers, control devices, meter, and wire ways. Set level and secure electrical apparatus. Install bus duct, cable tray, and cableway systems. Install wiring devices and hot check. Terminate and splice wire cable. Install ground cable, and ground bus, and terminate with mechanical or Cadweld-type connection. Set and connect motors and controls. Locate and disconnect existing circuits and electrical devices and equipment devices and equipment in existing facilities. Set, level, secure, and connect generators. Read and understand electrical drawings and manufacturer’s instructions. Follow all Safety guidelines and report any safety hazards, violations, and injuries. Dig trenches or excavation. Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Must have a complete set of required tools. Certified to operate a powder-actuated tool, if being used. Possess the ability to work with people in all work levels and trades. Certification in First Aid and CPR preferred. Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace and Hazardous Communications Programs. Must have five years of field experience. Possess a valid Driver’s License. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must have previous experience working on commercial electrical projects. High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to effectively use basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide, multiply) to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Hilti or Cadweld certified, Forklift Training, Basic Construction safety training. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Manually dexterous and skillful. Climb 6-to-12-foot ladders and 6-to-7-foot scaffolds. Maintain balance at any height. Reach and work overhead. Bend, crouch, and crawl for extended periods. Manually lift and carry 50 pounds, using the proper lifting method. Capable of push, pull, and repositioning activities. Hear warning alarm signals at least 50 feet away. Hear directions within 10 feet when given in a loud voice. Have unimpaired vision, with or without corrective lenses. Distinguish between colors. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
